On March 7th, local artist and Carl Sandburg College adjunct art professor Nikki Ponce inspired our Drawing I students with a fun blind contour line drawing activity. Students embraced the challenge of creating multiple quick portraits and self-portraits, focusing on the spontaneity of this unique technique. It's exciting to know that over the next few weeks, they will refine their drawings into finished pieces that reflect their creativity and growth as artists. Congratulations to the Galesburg High School Scholastic Bowl team for an outstanding performance in defending their title as Masonic Sectional Champions! With a perfect 7-0 record, they showcased incredible teamwork and knowledge, overcoming tough competitors like Pekin, United Township, Limestone, Washington, Dunlap in the prelims and then battling through Morton in the semifinals before triumphing over Peoria Notre Dame in a thrilling final match. The hard work and dedication of our scholars have truly paid off. We are excited to announce that we will be heading to Bloomington for Masonic State on March 8th! #StreaksNation

Get ready to cheer on the Girls Basketball Team as they take on Washington High School in the Ottawa Sectional Semifinal Game! Join us this Tuesday, Feb. 25th at 6 pm. Doors open at 5 pm, so come early to grab the best seats! Tickets are available for purchase ahead of time through GoFan for only $7, or you can buy them at the gate for $8. Be sure to park in the STUDENT LOT and enter through Door G when you arrive, bags are allowed—let’s fill the stands and show our support! See you there! Galesburg is considered the "visitors" for this game and our fans will sit in the Northside Balcony. No fans will be allowed to sit behind the team benches and there is limited floor seating on the Northside. There will be an assigned student section underneath either the east or west basket.
