Environmental Science students generated the gases that cause acid rain.
They then bubbled those gases through water to create acid rain and measured the pH of each resulting type of acid rain. Cool, huh?
Students in Ms. Gardner's class must answer an important question: would they rather receive $1,000 a day for 30 days, or receive a penny on day one of the month, and then double that amount each day for the month?

GHS Trivia Time! Did you know that the term "Cyber Monday" was coined by GHS class of 1996 grad Ellen (Tolley) Davis along with Scott Silverman? This term describes the Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. Davis is President of the National Retail Federation.

Biology students learn about taxonomy by developing a dichotomous classification key for different types of pasta.
27 members of the GHS CARE program thanked our veterans by walking in the 2019 Veterans' Day parade yesterday. Instead of passing out candy, CARE members elected to give out more than 1,000 4"x6" stick flags to those in attendance.
GHS Students participated in a hands-on activity presented by Ellen Bassler from Midwest Technical Institute on careers. Groups were challenged to build a product using collaboration and adaptation, they did not have the "exact pieces" to complete the task at hand.

Friday, November 8th, is the 3rd Annual First-Generation College Celebration.This is a celebration put on by the Council for Opportunity for Education (COE), the Center for First-Generation Student Success, and the Suder Foundation. GHS staff are proud grads today and every day!
Fire department was called for an alarm that sounded at GHS. Fire personnel checked over the area that the alarm was triggered and it was determined there was no fire or danger. Students were allowed to safety return to class once the all clear was given.
