The Galesburg High School winter formal, also known as the Sweetheart Swirl, will be held on February 11th. Thanks to generous donations from community members and former students, if a student is in need of a dress to wear to the dance, the "Fairy Godmother Closet" is available to help.
The closet is managed by the Galesburg High School Key Club and currently has an abundance of dresses to borrow available in various colors and styles ranging from size 0 to 24. A wide selection of formal shoes are also available for students to select from.
Once a dress is donated to the closet, the Key Club Members sort them. Those in poor condition are donated to Goodwill. Many of the dresses are in excellent condition and some still have tags on them. The "Closet" is located in the Gale School building, straight down the main hallway after you enter the front doors. The "Closet" will be open for students to come find the perfect dress for Swirl from 3-4 p.m. on the following dates:
January 31
February 2
February 7
The Key Club is currently accepting donations and is also in need of hanging racks to hang the numerous dresses on. If you are interested in making donations please contact Mrs. Robinson, at jrobinson2@galesburg205.org.
