Check out an optional opportunity for Freshmen, Sophomores, and Junior students to take a  practice  PSAT/NMSQT® (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test). This is an important test that provides many benefits that can help your student along the path to college on Wednesday, October 12th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Galesburg High School.

For Juniors, the PSAT/NMSQT offers the opportunity to enter competitions for scholarships that can help pay for college.

For Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors, the PSAT/NMSQT is also great practice for the SAT®. They also receive personalized feedback on their performance to help improve their skills before taking the SAT. Research has shown that students that take the PSAT score higher on the SAT. Both freshmen and sophomores will be offered the PSAT at school in the spring, juniors will be taking the SAT at that time.

In addition, students receive free college planning tools to help them start their college search and feedback on the types of AP courses for which they may be particularly well prepared. Taking these college-level classes can help students earn college credit while still in high school and provide them with a competitive advantage in the college admission process.

If students are interested in hearing from colleges and universities across the country that are looking for students like them, remember to opt into the Student Search Service® when taking the test.
