For the past five years, the Galesburg High School Student Council has fulfilled an Angel Tree for the foster children of Knox County by partnering with the Center for Youth and Family Solutions.
The GHS Student Council sponsored 30 children this year. Advocacy classes, teachers, and the student council members purchased gifts for the "angels". Once the gifts were purchased, the student council wrapped the gifts before they were delivered to the Center for the caseworkers to take to the foster children. Connie Clague, receptionist at the Center for Youth and Family Solutions, annual helps the Student Council to coordinate the gifts.
Tami Qualls, Galesburg High School Student Council sponsor says, "I am always touched by the overwhelming participation and support of the GHS community."
