boys swim and dive team

This morning, the members of the Galesburg Swim and Dive team will travel to Westmont, Illinois to participate in the IHSA State Finals.

The season can already be claimed as a successful one as many school records were broken and replaced with new names and times. Last weekend at sectionals the team set 6 records out of the 12 events that were held. Additionally, for the second year in a row, the team went undefeated in all dual meets.

Swim coach, Ray VanHootegem, was also recently named Sectional Coach of the year. According to Ray, "The team worked very hard this year with the goal of achieving success. Winning the WB6 and Sectionals were huge motivators. Not to mention the fact we wanted to qualify for the state meet."
