Twenty-eight talented Galesburg students recently attended the 50th annual Illinois Theatre Festival at Illinois State University. This incredible event allowed our students to engage in hands-on workshops led by professional artists and experienced college faculty, covering everything from acting and singing to dancing and technical theatre. Not only did they explore their passion for the performing arts, but they also showcased their skills by auditioning for various college programs and scholarships, receiving invaluable feedback from industry professionals along the way. Additionally, they had the opportunity to attend outstanding performances featuring schools from across Illinois. We are so proud of how our Silver Streaks Theatre Program represented Galesburg! #StreaksNation

We have been made aware of some concerning social media posts directed towards Galesburg Junior Senior High School. While no specific threat has been made, we are working closely with the Galesburg Police Department to provide extra police presence tomorrow at the school and also to thoroughly investigate who posted this and to bring that person to justice.
We prioritize student and staff safety and again we do not believe there is a specific threat.

We will continue to monitor this situation closely and update families if new information becomes available.

Join us on January 6, 2026, for a heartfelt event as our Galesburg Junior High Boys Basketball teams face off against Dunlap Middle School at 4:15 p.m. This special evening is dedicated to honoring the memory of our beloved teacher and coach, Jordan Ball. We invite everyone to come out and show their support as we raise funds for his family during this difficult time. The night will include speeches in honor of Mr. Ball's remarkable impact on our lives, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction with all proceeds going directly to benefit his family. The Galesburg High School Student Council proudly coordinated this year’s Angel Tree, bringing our school community together to support 40 local children this holiday season.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of staff, students, clubs, and athletic teams, gifts were purchased and donated to help make the holidays brighter for families in our community. This truly was a team effort and a wonderful example of holiday spirit!

Congratulations to the Galesburg High School Consumer Education Classes! We recently celebrated the achievement of our students who have completed the Everfi: Financial Literacy for High School module. It's inspiring to see their hard work rewarded with certificates alongside the dedicated employees from CBI Bank & Trust. With five classes celebrating their accomplishments, these young individuals are now better equipped for a financially responsible future. #StreaksNation

Our talented AP Drawing students are hard at work, meticulously crafting their pieces for their portfolios. Each artwork reflects their unique perspectives and creativity, showcasing months of dedication. As they aim for submission to the College Board in May, these student artists embrace both challenges and growth in their artistic journeys. We have updated the game times for tonight's girls basketball matchups! The Sophomore Girls Basketball team will face off against Quincy at 4 p.m., followed by the Varsity Girls Basketball team at 5:30 p.m. We appreciate your understanding and support as we make these adjustments to accommodate everyone. #StreaksNation

We are thrilled to share that the Galesburg Elks Club has generously donated over $1,500 to the GJSHS Counselors' Holly Fund! This incredible initiative, run by our dedicated counseling team, provides much-needed support for students facing financial or personal challenges during the holiday season. With these funds, we will be purchasing gift cards that can be used for essential items, food, or little comforts that help brighten students' days.
