📣 Attention Galesburg Junior/Senior High Parents & Guardians 📣
Did you know that 47% of all student tardiness happens during 1st period? ⏰ We need your partnership in helping our students start the day strong and on time!
👉 We’re asking for your support in reinforcing the importance of getting to school on time. A few small changes at home—like earlier bedtimes, adjusted morning routines, or planning—can make a big difference. We believe in starting the day right, which is why every student is offered a delicious and nutritious free breakfast before school.
🚫 Please note: Students arriving late will no longer be allowed to bring in outside food and drinks purchased on the way to school. This helps cut down on disruptions and keeps the focus where it belongs—on learning.
Let’s work together to make sure our students are present, prepared, and ready to succeed—starting with 1st period! 💛🖤 #streaknation

In an engaging hands-on project, our Environmental Science students explored the complexities of community perspectives as they debated the future of dams in the Columbia River Basin. Divided into groups, they researched and articulated arguments for and against removing four key dams while embodying various stakeholder roles. Today’s "town council" presentations showcased their creativity and critical thinking as they designed visual aids to support their cases. Ultimately, after careful consideration of all the presented viewpoints, Mrs. Huft and Ms. Weber made the decision to remove the dams. This experience not only taught them about ecological impact but also fostered skills in collaboration and public speaking. #StreaksNation

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Powder Puff Football game last night! While the Class of 2026 may argue they won by spirit and enthusiasm, it’s clear that when it comes to touchdowns, the Class of 2027 took home the victory. Regardless of the scoreboard, everyone involved played an essential role in making this night one for the books. Until next year! #StreaksNation
