Physical Science

Veterinarian Dr. Pete Plescia, of the Galesburg Animal Medical Center came to visit Mr. Baxter’s Physical Science class. He shared with students about his what it is like to be a vet and how he got his training. Students had the chance to ask Dr. Pete what he likes most and least about his job, and about tough surgeries he has had to perform. Dr. Pete also brought some props and tools of the trade.





Mrs. Cari Gehring’s Biology students modeled DNA with licorice, marshmallows, and gummi bears. Sweet!




Environmental Science

Mrs. Carole Buebe’s students in Environmental Science went to the Spoon River to make measurements and evaluations of water quality.


AP Physics

Mr. Baxter’s students created scale models of the solar system to put in place on the ceiling and on the walls outside of the classroom. The old grade school skills of cutting and coloring were put to use with newer skills such as proportions and unit conversions to make this project come together.
